11/4/2009

City budget may increase $25 million next year because of all the freebies given to Volkswagen

The city of Chattanooga's capital budget most likely will increase by at least $25 million because of all the spending that has occurred at the Enterprise South industrial park, as well as constructing new fire departments and sewers in annexed areas associated with the development of the VW plant.

City officials presented the proposed capital improvements budget to the City Council on Tuesday, November 3rd.  More than $13.5 million is delegated for improvements at the Enterprise South Park.
